The Town of Lafleche is seeking applications for the permanent, full-time position of Assistant Foreman. The Assistant Foreman assists in all operations and maintenance pertaining to public works under the influence of Council through the Chief Administrative Officer. The applicant must be motivated, organized and exhibit leadership qualities, as the successful applicant has the opportunity to become Foreman.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess a Class 5 Driver’s License. Preference will be given to applicants who possess Power Mobile Equipment Operator’s certification, Water Treatment and Distribution certification and WHMIS, though these are not required as training can be provided. The ideal candidate will be energetic with positive leadership skills to learn to lead the Public Works team to complete the following (but not limited to):

  • Year-round road maintenance (snow removal, sweeping, etc.)
  • Replace & repair municipal infrastructure (roads, sidewalks, culverts, water & sewer lines, etc.)
  • Maintenance & general repairs (nuisance ground, raw water system, municipal buildings, etc.)
  • Mowing, trimming & weeding of open spaces; tree trimming
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the campground, sports ground facilities, splash park etc.
  • Watering plants & trees
  • Casual water treatment sampling
  • Other duties as assigned by the CAO/Foreman

Compensation

The Town of Lafleche offers competitive wages and benefits. Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.
